A leading consortium headed by NET Enterprise has secured a landmark contract from India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) to drive forward major deepwater development projects in the prolific Krishna Godavari (KG) Basin. This contract forms a crucial part of ONGC’s extensive strategy to invest over $10 billion in enhancing production and unlocking new resources from its flagship KG-DWN-98/2 block.
The awarded scope covers the critical pre-FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) and FEED phases, which are foundational for the successful execution of deepwater oil and gas developments. The consortium will focus on two primary projects:
-
Cluster-1 Development: This entails the integrated development of DWN-E1 and DWN-F1 wells alongside the GS29 block. This combined approach aims to optimize resource extraction while ensuring cost efficiency and operational synergy.
-
Subsea Wells Tie-in: This project involves the connection of existing subsea wells G-1-9 Sub and G-1-15 to the G1 Manifold infrastructure, thereby expanding the field’s production capacity and enhancing reservoir management.
Key deliverables under this contract include conducting comprehensive concept studies, preparing detailed engineering design packages for tendering, and providing robust project management consultancy services throughout the design and planning stages. These phases are vital to mitigating risks and ensuring that the developments meet stringent technical, safety, and environmental standards.
This contract award follows ONGC’s recent milestone achievement of first oil production from the KG-DWN-98/2 block, underscoring the company’s commitment to advancing deepwater exploration and production capabilities in India’s offshore sector.
The partnership with NET Enterprise and the consortium reflects ONGC’s strategic intent to collaborate with leading industry players to leverage cutting-edge technology and expertise for sustainable and efficient resource development.
